Abstract
In this era of technological development, new media have emerged that can increase social interaction between people, for example podcast. One of the interesting accounts is Merry Riana’s podcast acoount. Merry Riana’s podcast account skyrocketed to the first rank in the Apple podcast with the genre of motivational in just one mont. This study aims to find out how teenage reception of motivational messages conveyed by Merry Riana on her podcast account, researcher chose 3 episodes including is episode Generasi Micin Jaman Now, Percuma Jadi Orang Pintar!, dan So What Gitu Loh?. The method used in this study is qualitative study with a reception analysis study approach to the encoding/decoding model by Stuart Hall. Data collection was carried out by FGD to informants whi listened to the Merry Riana podcast and the documentation during the FGD. These considerations are formulated in this research into, how teen reception towards motivational messages in the Merry Riana episodes 11, 74, and 84. 11 Keyword: Podcast, Motivational Merry Riana, Reception Analysis.
