Abstract
Rice is one of the main food ingredients in Indonesia, this makes Indonesia one of the largest rice producers in the world. However, in fact the amount of local production has not been able to meet the needs of rice consumption in Indonesia, causing the government to import rice to meet demand while maintaining rice price stability. Vietnam is one of the largest rice importers in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach to analyze the effect of exchange rates, domestic rice prices, production and consumption on Vietnam's rice imports. The data used is secondary data originating from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics, Bank Indonesia, and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia. The type of data used in this study is time series data from 2010 - 2021. This study uses a multiple linear regression analysis technique with the classical assumption that it is Best Linear Unbiased Estimate using the SPSS program (Statistics Program For Social Science) Version 25.0. The results showed that the exchange rate had a negative and significant effect on imports of Vietnamese rice, domestic rice prices had a positive and significant effect on imports of Vietnamese rice, rice production had a negative and significant effect on imports of Vietnamese rice, and rice consumption had a positive and significant effect on imports of Vietnamese rice. and simultaneously the exchange rate, domestic rice prices, rice production and rice consumption affect Vietnam's rice imports.
