Abstract

Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a type of vegetable that is favored by every community, but its cultivation still uses excessive inorganic materials. These problems can be overcome by using organic and natural ingredients. This study aims to determine the effect of giving a combination of doses of vermicompost fertilizer and natural ZPT on the growth and yield of eggplant with a potting system. The research was carried out at the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, "Veteran" National Development University, East Java, from December 2022 to March 2023 using polybags. This study was a factorial experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) and was repeated three times. The first factor was the dose of vermicompost fertilizer (K), which consisted of 4 treatment levels, namely Control (NPK Fertilizer 17.5 g) (K0), 100 g/polybag (K1), 500 g/polybag (K2), 1 kg/polybag (K3) and the second factor, namely natural ZPT (bean sprout extract) (T) which consisted of 4 treatment levels, namely Control (without bean sprout extract) (T0), 75 ml/plant (T1), 125 ml/plant (T2), 150 ml /plant (T3). The results showed that the combination treatment with vermicompost fertilizer dose of 1 kg/polybag and bean sprout extract 75 ml/plant was able to increase the number of fruits per plant per harvest period (3rd harvest period).
