Abstract

Fig plant (Ficus carica L.) is a special plant because it is contained in the Word of God in the Qur'an letter At-Tin the first verse which means "For the sake of (the fruit of) Tin and (the fruit of) Olive".) Species diversity is the nature of the community that shows the level of diversity of the types of organisms that exist in it. The study of insect diversity in fig plants was conducted with the aim of reducing the use of pesticides and preserving beneficial insects in fig plantations. The research was conducted from February to June 2023 in Fig plantation in Leran Village, Manyar district, Gresik Regency. The results obtained in this study are Shannon Winner diversity index (H') of 2.141 where the results are included in the medium category. The species evenness index obtained is 0.835 which means that the evenness of insect species is high. The dominance index obtained in the observation of insect diversity in this Tin Fruit plant is 0.134 where the C value is less than 0.5 which means there is no dominating insect.
