Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the level of insect diversity and the level of insect dominance by one species in red guava (Psidium guajava L) plantation in Plumbungan Village, Sukodono District, Sidoarjo Regency. Insect sampling is collected by using insect trap methods, namely yellow trap, light trap, insect net, and pitfall trap. Insects that have been obtained will be identified and counted the total number of individuals then analyzed with the Shannon-Wienner diversity index (H') and dominance index (C). The results of insect identification show that insects that have been obtained are 14 insect genus consisting of 6 orders and 13 families. The results of the calculation of the insect diversity index show the level of insect diversity in red guava cultivation land is included in the medium category with the value of H' 1.080 and the dominance index value (C) of 0.602 shows that on red guava land there are insects that dominate, namely Bactrocera (77.3%).
