Abstract
Increasing the quality and ease of accessing information about restaurants or places to eat, as well as the business of fulfilling food needs is getting higher, increasing public demand for choosing Food Away from Home (FAFH). However, when viewed from the conditions of increasing urbanization and female worker, it allows for changes in lifestyle and contributes to increasing the popularity of the FAFH in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the consumption pattern of FAFH for the community of Tambaksari District based on the level of income that influences the frequency of FAFH activities, time ownership, eating habits, and expenses for consumption, as well as analyze the factors that influence FAFH consumption patterns. The sampling method uses a multistage sampling technique with a combination of cluster sampling techniques and stratified random sampling with 100 respondents in total. The first objective was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis, and the second objective was analyzed using factor analysis. The results showed that the variables of frequency, time ownership, and expenses for consumption were affected by income levels. The results of the factor analysis showed that the factors influencing the consumption patterns of FAFH in urban Surabaya are the quality of food, ambiance or atmosphere, and lifestyle.
