Abstract

Porong River is one of the Lapindo mudflow drains to prevent the collapse of the Lapindo mud retaining embankment. This causes sedimentation in the Porong River due to the continuous and large volume of Lapindo mudflow. The existence of the Lapindo mud flow causes the mud material not to settle along the river, but settles in the estuary area of the Porong River, which is in the Madura Strait, caused by the transport of sediment from the Porong River to the estuary and along the coast. Based on this background, efforts are needed to monitor the distribution of Total Suspended Solid (TSS) in the Sidoarjo Porong river estuary. The results of this study can be concluded that Landsat 8 satellite imagery has a wavelength of 0.636 - 0.673 µm with the H. Wibisana Algorithm model (2021) TSS (mg/l) = 637.52 x Rrs(640) – 7.845 can be used to calculate TSS levels because the results of the 2018 and 2019 ANOVA tests have a better correlation coefficient value, namely 2018 was 49, 72%, in 2019 it was 69.065%. Whereas in 2020 and 2022 the Guzman-Santella (2009) TSS (mg/l) = 602.63 x (0.0007 x e (47.755x Ref B4)+3.1481) algorithm is better, in 2020 it is 84.297% and in 2022 it is 64.18%. And in 2023 the Ety Parwati algorithm is better (2014) TSS (mg/l) = 3.3238 × EXP (34.099 × Band_4) with a correlation coefficient of 79.18%, therefore this research can be used as a reference in subsequent research and to map the distribution of Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and to monitor increases and decreases in Total Suspended Solid (TSS) so that it can provide the right solutions in making decisions on environmental impacts and development around the area.
