Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world has the potential to become the world's maritime axis, because almost 70% of the area Indonesia is an ocean. One area that has potential in the maritime and maritime sectors are in the area of ​​the city of Tuban which is a city with the majority of the population utilizing marine resources as eyes livelihood. So that the marine resources can be utilized as well as possible It is known how the quality of sea water in the region. In order to be able to take advantage with maximum potential, it is necessary to know how the quality of the sea is in a place region. The quality of seawater can be known by measuring physical parameters and chemistry. Chemical parameters include pH and dissolved oxygen. One of The technology that can be used is remote sensing technology. This research provide information on the pattern of changes in pH and dissolved oxygen in the region The city of Tuban obtained from Landsat 8 image processing within 5 years year. The results of the analysis showed that the in situ pH value was 6.41 – 6.82 and for oxygen dissolved obtained a value of 1.26 – 6.20 mg/L. As for image data with the highest correlation for pH shows the image data value of 7.22 – 7.66 and for dissolved oxygen, a value of 9.97 – 10.66 mg/L was obtained. Both data are in situ has a fairly strong positive correlation. While the results of the mapping of pH and Dissolved oxygen is then used as one of the monitoring parameters water quality such as determining fish catching areas, and ecosystem conservation. While in the field of Civil Engineering in the sector of planning and development water structures such as harbors and docks, this research can be used as database.
