Abstract

Smartwatch is currently a trend in society. People use it as digital jewelry which has more features than conventional watches. One of the smartwatch features is sending messages. In the process of sending messages, it is necessary to make it easy to type on a small smartwatch screen. Several studies have been conducted to make it easier for someone to type on a smartwatch screen. The results of the research show that there are various layouts on smartwatch-sized screens, such as ZoomBoard, ZShift, Callout, SwiperBoard, and One Line Plus. One Line Plus is inspired by a similar layout, One Line. The difference in this layout is that the button size is enlarged by reducing the button column in one screen. In addition, it also adds several supporting features such as the enter button and autocorrect. This autocorrect feature can significantly increase typing speed. In this study, the One Line Plus prototype was developed using web-based React.js. In this study, a typo test and system test were also carried out to assess how fast and easy it was to use the One Line Plus layout.
