Abstract
This study aims to examine the empowerment of UMKM Furniture by the Department of Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises, Pasuruan City. The background of this writing is due to the condition of UMKM Furniture actors who still do not have sufficient skills and knowledge in managing a business and the low participation in empowerment activities carried out by local governments so that it has implications for the income of UMKMFurniture which decreases. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The focus of this research refers to Pasuruan Mayor Regulation Number 44 of 2017 Concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Pasuruan City Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2016 Concerning Empowerment of Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises, with five forms of empowerment namely education and training, strengthening capital, product marketing, facilitating cooperation with other businesses, as well as protection and provision of legal certainty. The results of this study indicate that the empowerment that has been carried out by the Office of Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises in Pasuruan City has succeeded in empowering Furniture UMKM because it is supported by the Dates program which resulted in an increase in the number of Furniture UMKM businesses, as well as the easy granting of business permits with the SIUP ball pick-up program but in the form of empowering education and training as well as product marketing needs to be made more comprehensive and massive efforts.
