Abstract

Inorganic fertilizer could give bad influence to the environment and the crop. One of the solutions is used organic materials like offal fish waste and banana stem that easily found. The aim of this study is to produce the liquid organic fertilizer from the fermented mixture of offal fish waste and banana stem. The fish offal waste was come from several species like catfish (Clariidae sp.), parrot fish (Oreochromis niloticus), milkfish (Chanos chanos), gourami (Osphronemus goramy), and patin fish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). The fermentation process was also provided by the addition of bio-activator, EM4, and took place for 18 days. The organic content such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium were analyzed from the sixth day. The optimum fermentation was reached in days 15 for all kind materials. The highest nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium contents were resulted from patin fish (2.28%), catfish (2.06%), and patin fish (2.23%) respectively. Higher organic contents could give better result of liquid organic fertilizer in plant growth.
