Abstract

The shift of the global politics landscape to the Indo-Pacific region has brought this region to the attention of various countries and international institutions in the world. Countries in other regions such as European countries like France and Germany are no exception. For France and Germany, the Indo-Pacific region is very important for the sustainability of these two countries. France as a European country that has territory in this region views the issues that occur in the Indo-Pacific as important issues for its country and need to be followed up. As for Germany, trade relations and the economic potential of the Indo-Pacific are crucial for Germany, which is an advanced industrial country. Both countries then created strategic policies to play a deeper role in the Indo-Pacific region. On the other hand, both countries are members of the European Union regional institution. Both countries then seek to incorporate their various views, interests and visions into the European Union. This effort is carried out by conducting various meetings between member countries, utilizing various meeting forums outside or within the European Union. Ultimately, the European Union issued an Indo-Pacific strategic policy with a variety of common views, interests, and values raised by France and Germany. Keywords: Indo-Pacific, Decision-Making, EU Strategy for Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific
