Abstract
Abstract – Transnational crime is a security problem that involves more than one country, one of which is drug trafficking or drug trafficking. Drug trafficking are arising from weak control at the border, including in the Southeast Asian region. Golden Triangle is a region in Southeast Asia which is one of the largest drug production and trade areas in the world. ASEAN as a Southeast Asian regional organization is responsible for dealing with drug trafficking in the Golden Triangle. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of ASEAN in dealing with drug trafficking in the Golden Triangle in 20182020. To find out this, the authors use the theory of International Organizations in this study. The research method used by the author is a qualitative method. The data used is secondary data collected through journals, books and official reports that are relevant to this research. The research results obtained are that ASEAN acts as a motivator, communicator, and intermediary in dealing with drug trafficking problems in Golden Triangle which aims to reduce the number of drug production and trade in the Golden Triangle Area.
