Abstract

This thesis discusses the Monusco's effort in handling civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo by 2020 to 2021. Civil war in RD Congo has a major impact on government barriers to implement its function and raises insects for civil society. The high case of human rights violations and state situations that are not conducive to the UN DK's move to perform peace missions. In this paper used the concept of R2P (Respibilityibility to Protect), peacekeeping concept, and peacebuilding concept to explain the UN decline step and send the monusco to RD Congo. This paper uses descriptive type research in explaining Monusco's efforts during operations in RD Congo. This study utilizes documents, data, annual reports, internet websites, newspapers and research that have been done by previous writers. The data used in this writing is secondary data in the form of the Monusco Performance Annual Report. The Monusco's effort is implemented through peacekeeping operation which includes the delivery of military forces and special security, as well as military operations in handling rebel groups. Monusco performs peacebuilding operation through security sector reform (RSK), DDR (disablement, demobilization, and reintegration), and civil society protection and human rights guarantee.
