Abstract

Public opinion through Facebook social media is very important in life, because this is where people can get the information they need to know about an event that is happening at that time. Therefore, social media is influential for society. Because researchers know how the power of the media in shaping perceptions or opinions, so that most of the people of Surabaya in giving their opinions there are results in the form of cognitive. Cognitive can also be called the perceptual component, which contains individual beliefs. The beliefs of the Surabaya community are related to the insult of the mayor of Surabaya by an individual who allegedly insulted the mayor While affective. this refers to the subjective emotional dimension of the opinion of some of the Surabaya public against the case. It is considered to have no ethics even though there is some public opinion that hates Bu Risma and the last one is conative. also called the behavioural component, namely when there is news of insulting the mayor of Surabaya, the public takes steps to report it to the authorities.
