Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out the development of rice imports, rice production, rice consumption, domestic rice prices, world rice prices, and the rupiah exchange rate in Indonesia. Analyzing the effect of production, consumption, domestic rice prices, world rice prices, and the rupiah exchange rate on rice imports in Indonesia. Methods of data analysis using trend analysis and ARDL. The results show that the trend line equation is Y = 960512.4+4155.564 x. The average rice import in Indonesia increased by 4155.564 thousand tons/year. The ARDL estimation results show that the long-term relationship between rice production and the exchange rate has a negative effect on rice imports in Indonesia, while rice consumption and prices have a positive effect on rice imports. ARDL estimates show that the relationship between production and exchange rates in the short term has a positive effect on imports. The results of the F test show p-value = 0.002057 < α = 0.05 and the results obtained for R 2 are 0.931852 meaning that the variables of rice production, rice consumption, rice prices, foreign rice prices and the rupiah exchange rate affect rice imports by 93.1% while the remaining 6.9% is explained by other variables not included in the regression. The t test shows that rice production and the rupiah exchange rate have a significant effect on rice imports. Consumption, rice prices, and foreign rice prices are partially insignificant to rice imports in Indonesia.
