Abstract
Physical properties are soil properties related to the shape of the original soil conditions, including soil bulk density, permeability, porosity, structure, texture, and color. These factors are dominant in influencing land use, especially in relation to the availability of oxygen and the mobility of water in the soil and the ease of penetration of plant roots. This study aims to obtain information on the characteristics of the physical properties of the soil on various land uses in Pujon District. The method used in this study is the survey method and the help of ArcGIS software to determine field conditions and soil sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling method. Sampling in this study was taken at a depth of 0-30 cm and 30-60 cm and used 3 replications representing each land unit. The results of the research on the physical characteristics of the soil on the use of dry land, gardens, and forests have a texture of loam, sandy loam, and clayey loam, and have a granular structure. Moisture content ranges from 17.84% - 22.18%. The bulk density ranges from 0.71 – 1.06 g/cm3 on dry land with slope class 3 which has a poor status. Specific gravity ranges from 2.58 – 2.65 g/cm3 . The total pore space ranges from 59.23% – 72.80%. Permeability ranges from 3.92 – 14.55 cm/jam and has a poor to good status.
