Abstract
In the era of society 5.0 is currently supported by rapid technological advances related to database systems so that the emergence of crimes of falsifying personal data in the internet world so that a legal basis is needed, where the state must be present in providing protection of people's personal data. This study aims to find out the reasons why there are cases of buying and selling personal data for Pre-Employment card assistance sites and forms of protection for owners of personal data identity that is forged in the Pre-Employment card assistance site contained in Indonesian Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions and Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection. This research uses normative juridical research methods. Data collection is carried out by means of literature and document studies. Data analysis was carried out using analytical descriptive methods and using a qualitative approach. The results showed that the implementation of the form of efforts to protect people's personal data is still far away so that it is prone to leakage of personal data which results in other interconnected crimes such as identity forgery, identity abuse, illegal identity buying and selling which results in losses to the owner of the personal data. So, in this case the identity is considered a high-value asset to make a profit. Keywords: Identitiy Forgery Crime, Pre-Employment Assistance Site, Personal Data
