Abstract
Kediri Regency is one of the areas in East Java province which is still carrying out arts and cultural activities both for development and preservation, this is because Kediri district is an area that has historical value from the Kediri kingdom which had a big influence on East Java in its time, many heritages in the form of arts and culture that is inherited to the people of Kediri. In the development of arts and cultural activities, Kediri district only has 3 facilities or places that are commonly used for arts and cultural activities. This is in contrast to the many arts and cultural activities. For this reason, to support this development, a Kediri arts and culture center was designed which could become a place for arts and cultural activities for both performers and connoisseurs of Kediri arts and culture. The chosen design method is borrowing form transformation, which applies the jaranan art form to the building. The design approach uses symbolic architecture, namely by using elements in Jaranan art that are applied as displays on buildings. The results of the design are embodied in the form of the Kediri arts and culture center building with the appearance and form of applying jaranan art as its form and appearance. As an art and cultural building, this building is designed to offer various facilities for cultural arts actors, local communities, as well as domestic and foreign tourists through the existence of a library, auditorium, training center, art gallery and cafeteria.
