Abstract
In Surabaya itself, there are many people with disabilities who produce works, but are not well known by the general public. There are still no facilities that are friendly for artists with disabilities to display their work. So that a new facility is needed in the form of an Art Gallery which can be accessed at any time and is attractive to the general public with friendly accessibility for the general public or persons with disabilities in Surabaya. The design concept applies the theme "Spacial Perception by Five Senses of Human" to the design object by using the perception concept that each visitor has in the experience of enjoying the work. The background for taking this theme is due to the author's awareness of the inability of one or more senses of persons with disabilities. It is also hoped that the general public will be more able to understand how people with disabilities can enjoy art. The five senses of human which consist of the senses of seeing, touching, smelling, tasting and hearing are then manifested in the function groups of the galleries each intended to be, namely the viewing gallery, the touching gallery, the aroma gallery, the cafe and the amphitheater. In order to obtain a design with this theme for people with disabilities, the authors used the Behavioral Architecture approach with the Pragmatic Architecture design method as the basis for how to design accessible and functional designs. With the Disabled Art Gallery, it is hoped that it will be able to accommodate the works of disabled artists in Surabaya up to the national level in the future as well as introduce and increase the awareness of the people of Surabaya for the works of disabled artists.
