Abstract
Sidoarjo is a city known as Delta City as a trade and industrial center city, also has batik art as a hallmark of Sidoarjo City. Sidoarjo batik has been developed since 1675 in an area of Sidoarjo city, namely Jetis Batik Village, which is an old batik craftsman's village in the form of small alleys lined with Javanese colonial-style batik craftsmen's houses. Jetis batik motifs have developed and there are many types. However, along with the development of the population and the hectic buying and selling in the village, jetis batik, which was originally famous for being made in Sidoarjo, has turned into a Madurese batik identity. Apart from that, there has also been a decline in production and marketing, the spread of jetis batik shops outside the village, and not optimal in providing supporting facilities for visitors. Therefore, the development of the Jetis Batik Center needs to be carried out with the hope that jetis batik can be recognized by many consumers to increase product marketing, unite the dispersed MSMEs of jetis batik craftsmen, and preserve the identity of batik in Sidoarjo Regency which elevates local culture so that it can become a cultural heritage for Sidoarjo Regency. supported by the Regionalism Architecture approach. In designing the Jetis Batik Center in Sidoarjo, an analysis of facts, issues, and goals has been carried out regarding matters related to this design object. So that the theme Regional Cultire Characteristics was chosen with the aim of presenting architectural components that characterize the regional cultural characteristics of Sidoarjo Regency in buildings. The design approach used is Regionalism Architecture which is a movement in the field of architecture to revive regional or local cultural characteristics in designing or designing a building with the use of modern technology. The use of the Regionalism Architecture approach at the Jetis Batik Center is aimed at realizing cultural characteristics in Sidoarjo which will later be known and remembered by the wider community regarding the building and its contents. So to support this, this design also uses the Hybrid Architecture method. So that the purpose and meaning of the jetis batik center building can be created with beautiful architectural forms.
