Abstract
The city of Surabaya is the largest city as well as the capital of East Java Province, in that city there are certainly many people outside the city of Surabaya with various cultures and behaviors. From this, the city of Surabaya is increasingly densely populated and control over people's behavior is increasingly erratic, especially towards women. Cases of motives for violence against women are increasingly heard passing by on social media and print media. Being a woman living in the Capital feels like she doesn't have a truly safe place for herself and other women. It is rare to find a building for the Education and Empowerment Center for Women Victims of Violence in Indonesia, even though the function of this building is quite important in shaping the behavior and recovery of victims of trauma. To answer this problem, a building for the Education and Empowerment Center for Women Victims of Violence is needed which can accommodate women victims of violence both physically and mentally where women can feel safe in the area of the building. The architectural psychology approach was chosen in the design of the Center for Education and Empowerment of Women Victims of Violence by focusing on restoring the psychological condition and behavior of women victims of violence, through architectural designs that support an atmosphere of recovery, fulfillment of basic human needs, trauma management, and empowerment activities. The purpose of this design object is to help restore the psychology of victims of gender-based violence against women, educate, help victims get services efficiently by experts, create opportunities, and build social infrastructure.
