Abstract
Surabaya as one of the largest industrial cities in Indonesia, is currently focusing on developing the creative industry sector to achieve its goal of becoming a world-class creative city. The many opportunities from the creative industry sector have resulted in the emergence of various startup companies in the creative industry sector. But in fact at this time, the city of Surabaya does not yet have a building that can specifically facilitate creative industry players and accommodate activities in this ecosystem properly. Based on the Surabaya Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2021-2026 regarding the government's plan to develop and facilitate creative industry players in Surabaya, a forum is needed that can accommodate startup actors in the creative industry while at the same time making the city of Surabaya an icon of creative industry. The design concept of this building refers to the Creative Synergy Icon theme with an Iconic Architecture approach and the Combined Metaphor method. With the existence of the Surabaya Creative Center, it can become a forum/media for creative industry players that accommodates and supports the activities of creative industry players in synergizing and collaborating between sectors. This design aims to make the Surabaya Creative Center an icon of the creative industry in the city of Surabaya.
