Abstract
Bangkalan Regency is the main gateway for various activities, especially goods and services that connect Java and Madura. Transportation on Madura Island currently only relies on a network of roads connected from the Suramadu Bridge. In accordance with the directions of the 2018 Railway Master Plan in the development of the national railway, Bangkalan Regency is the focus of the Government in infrastructure development to support equity and accelerate development around the Gerbangkertosusila area. The aim of this design is to create a train station that is integrated with other modes of transportation and can be reached by all levels of Madurese society. The development of rail transportation is expected to become the backbone of freight and passenger transportation so that it can become one of the main drivers of the economy in Bangkalan Regency. This design uses a combination metaphor method of tanean lanjhang and kraman sapi as an identity in architectural and non-architectural forms. Of course, combining combination metaphors can provide characteristics and characters as symbols and differentiators that are easy to understand for visitors. In addition, this design uses the theme of integration in transportation which can integrate regional transit networks and complement existing environmental development strategies around the location. With the existence of a comprehensive transportation service to the community, Transit Oriented Development is an answer for transportation mode services that are integrated with other modes of service and are able to become an important part of the economic structure of Bangkalan Regency
