Abstract
Vermicomposting is the process of decomposing organic waste which is carried out with the help of worms as decomposers, resulting in worm manure (fertilizer) or called vermicompost. The characteristics of vermicompost are largely determined by the type of feed material or the media in which it lives, according to Adytama, (2017) explaining that the quality of vermicompost depends on the type of raw material used, the type of earthworm and the age of the vermicompost. it is suspected that there will be differences in the nutrient content of the vermicompost produced if the raw materials or feed and the types of earthworms are different. Based on this background, it is necessary to conduct research on the effect of the composition of vermicompost raw materials and types of worms on the quality of vermicompost, which is measured by the C-organic, N, P, K and C/N ratios. In composting using the RAL factorial method in the manufacture of vermicompost fertilizer, with factor A namely (A0) without worms, types of worms Eudrilus eungiae (A1) and worms Lumbricus Sp (A2), then the next factor is the composition of the raw materials Cocopeat, cow dung and Banana stems, the following compositions were obtained: B1: 50% Banana Stems + 25% Cow Manure + 25% Coconut Fiber, B2: 25% Banana Stems + 50% Cow Manure + 25% Coconut Fiber, B3: 25% Banana Stems + Manure Cow 25% + Coconut Fiber 50%. The composition of the raw materials and types of Eudrilus worms with the best chemical parameters were obtained by the A2B2 treatment (50% banana stem, 25% cow dung and 25% cocopeat), in terms of analysis of variance of organic-C content (47.85%), N-total ( 2.14%), P-total (1.25%), K-total (2.02%) and C/N ratio (22.38%). The application of vermicompost fertilizer had the best growth rate in the application of compost produced from Eudrilus worms with the composition of raw material B2, in terms of stem height (122 cm), wet weight of stem (80g), and root weight (21.7g).
