Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the SoundCloud application by the pop-punk indie band as social media to promote pop-punk songs and music. The method used is qualitative. Several theories were used: the theory of Computer Media Communication (CMC); Determination of Technology Theory; Communication Effectiveness. While the indicators used to measure SoundCloud's effectiveness are understanding, pleasure, influence on attitudes, and improving social relationships and actions. Data were collected from research informants through in-depth interviews and questionnaires. Then to analyze the effectiveness of the SoundCloud application using a Likert scale. The study concluded that SoundCloud effectively promotes pop-punk songs and music by pop-punk indie bands to the public. The measurements on all the indicators showed the high effectiveness of using SoundCloud.
