Abstract

At this time technology is developing very rapidly so as to produce innovations that can facilitate human daily activities. Development Technology has a positive impact on several fields including business fields. Utilization of technology in managing inventory and inventory sales data will make it easier for business people so that the work environment is made to be more effective and efficient. Stock inventory management become one of the important things that must be considered in the business world. So from that it is necessary to forecast the amount of stock of goods needed for the period next. Insufficient or excess stock of goods will cause losses for a business or enterprise. In this study, the calculation of forecasting the amount of stock goods for the next period using the Single Exponential Smoothing method which is optimized with the Golden Section method to search for alpha values optimum so as to produce an ideal forecast value with MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) minimum. Example of calculation on one item with a span of 18 months produces an optimum alpha value of 0.19957 and the MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) value is 34.56144%.
