Abstract
DIVA SANDI AL VISHA, SINGLE MOTHER IN INDONESIAN FILM (Study of Narrative Film About Single Mother Representation In Film Sweet 20 and Film Air Mata Terakhir Bunda). Family themed film is still great for Indonesian people. Film Sweet 20 and film Air Mata Terakhir Bunda is a films that is closely related to the family, especially both films discusses about the struggle of a single mother who educates and nurtures a single child. This research is to find out a single mother representation in the film Sweet 20 and film Air Mata Terakhir Bunda. The research method used in this research is qualitative research with film narrative study according to Tzyetan Todorov which is divided into 3 stages, that is the beginning, middle, and closing which is useful to specify the cause and effect plot relation on both films. The results of this study indicate that the representation of single mother in the film Sweet 20 and film Air Mata Terakhir Bunda is incline as independent single mother, tough, and hardworking and researchers also found different communication patterns at the same time as single mother in both films.
