Abstract
Furniture is a term used for household furniture that functions as a place to store goods, a place to sit, a place to sleep, a place to do something in the form of a table or a place to put things on its surface. For example furniture as a sitting facility in a restaurant is used to gather with family, friends, and businesses. This study examines how to design a restaurant furniture on condition that it does not change the original design of the existing restaurant furniture with the method of developing furniture design. The purpose of this study is to provide a solution to the design of restaurant furniture with the concept of a restaurant in which has a fairly strong history. The method used is a quantitative method based on fact-finding about the Braga Permai restaurant in earlier times, collecting data based on data from interviews, observations and documentation. Furniture at the Braga Permai restaurant is geometric in shape and the type of furniture is fabric and there are also 3 types of material in each furniture. From the results of the analysis, three themes were discussed, namely: themes and concepts in restaurants, design methods in restaurant furniture, and selection of materials and finishing. The study of these three themes is useful to provide the results of restaurant furniture design properly and still have a history in it. Keywords : Furniture, Restaurant, Material, Expansion Design
