Abstract

The teacher turnover rate at Ukhuwah Islamiyah Foundation in 2021 was 3.5%. In the following year, it increased to 7.4%. The two-year average was 5.45%. This figure is relatively high because based on the foundation's standards the turnover rate is said to be high if it exceeds 5%. This study aims to determine the effect of workload and competence on teacher job satisfaction with religiosity as a moderation variable. This type of research is quantitative research. The measurement scale in this study used a likert scale with five categories, namely strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, and strongly disagree. The sampling technique used was a saturated sampling technique, which means that this study used the entire existing population of 137 people consisting of 72 elementary school teachers, 31 middle school teachers, and 34 high school teachers. The data collection technique uses questionnaires that are distributed directly to the research subjects. Data analysis techniques and hypothesis testing in this study used the Structural Equation Model – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results of this study concluded that 1) workload can increase job satisfaction, 2) competence can increase job satisfaction, 3) religiosity does not strengthen or weaken the direction of the relationship of workload variables to Job Satisfaction, and 4) religiosity does not strengthen or weaken the direction of the relationship of competency variables to Job Satisfaction.
