Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how Surabaya students perceive the film Copying Light. The study that the authors used was a perception analysis. The research design used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research design because the researcher wants to find facts and interpret the perceptions of Surabaya students regarding the Light Copying Film. The determination of informants in this study uses purpose sampling, which is a way of determining informants that are determined intentionally on the basis of certain criteria and considerations. The criteria for informants in this study were Surabaya city students who had watched the film Copying Light Based on the research and data analysis above, the findings of the first researcher are the perception of characters or characters in light-copying films, there are two depictions of characters, the first is the character as the victim, namely Sur. The portrayal of sur figures as victims from the respondent's point of view explains the persistence of victims of sexual abuse in revealing their cases and the second is the figure of the sex offender, namely rama, the depiction of the figure of rama as a person who is like in real life that this rama has power or a power that can protect sexual crimes committed by rama. Based on the findings of the researchers, the two researchers looked at the perceptions of students who had been interviewed about the depiction of sexual harassment cases depicted in the copying film, it can be concluded that students describe cases of harassment in films that are so neatly arranged and not revealed to harassers and in other students depicting cases of sexual harassment in this film is very likely to occur in the real world as well as in films that are very difficult to uncover the case. From the findings of the third researcher, namely related to the perception of students after watching the film copying light, it can be concluded that students who perceive this film as a message of awareness of the audience in viewing sexual harassment cases do not underestimate or even consider this case as trivial. Keywords : perception, student, film copying light
