Abstract
Indonesian Batik is one of the cultures from Indonesia which is quite well known by foreign people. The existence of Indonesian Batik has existed since before the Indonesian nation became independent. The Indonesian government uses Indonesian Batik as a tool for cultural diplomacy. This article discusses the government's strategy in carrying out cultural diplomacy through Indonesian Batik in Japan. Researchers used descriptive-qualitative research methods whose sources were obtained from secondary sources. This article discusses the strategy of batik diplomacy towards Japan from 2008-2020 in order to evaluate the four components of the concept of cultural diplomacy including actors and efforts, goals, activities, and audiences in diplomacy. This research explores the government's efforts to introduce Indonesian Batik to Japan with the aim that Indonesian Batik is better known and has a positive impact on the country.
