Abstract
The patriarchal culture that still exists in society and the lack of women's interest in education can cause the condition of Indonesian women to still be left behind compared to men. therefore it is necessary to have character education for adolescents, especially young girls. With character education for young girls, it is hoped that they will be able to implement changes in the values, attitudes, morals, and mindset of the next generation of young people. As one of the efforts to build the character of young women in Indonesia, an effective media is needed to convey character education material. This design reaserching how to make a digital comic about the story of R.A. Kartini as an effort to build character for young girls aged 15-18 years. In this design the data collection methods used are qualitative and quantitative methods. Primary data sources were obtained from observation, questionnaires and interviews, while secondary data sources were obtained through literature studies. The analysis technique used to establish the data that has been obtained is the 5W + 1H analysis method, qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. The data that has been obtained, generate the keywords "Inspirational, Heroic, and Dramatic". The result of this digital comic design is a digital comic about the life story of R. A. Kartini which is uploaded on the Line Webtoon platform. By using digital comic, young girls still get educational characters in an interesting way and are easily understood by the target audience. In the future, it is hoped that digital comics with the title “Just Call Me Kartini” can provide inspiration and motivation for young women through the example of R A Kartini.
