Abstract
Indonesia, as one of the developing countries that received the US-GSP facility, has used the policy since 1980 after signing a tariff bound agreement with the United States. The US-GSP policy provides a light duty on imports of certain goods from developing countries to provide development support to developing countries by promoting exports to developed countries. The United States is one of the developed countries that makes the trade balance in Indonesia into a surplus. Therefore, this study aims to see how big is the impact of the Generalized System Of Preference (GSP) policy scheme by the United States on the export performance of Indonesian plywood products for the 2010-2019 period. The method used is a simple linear regression analysis method using the help of dummy variables as a measurement variable for US-GSP policy variables. The use of this analysis technique was chosen with reason to estimate whether there is a relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable. For this purpose, data collection related to US-GSP policies from the USTR database has been carried out. This study uses quantitative data types from the results of systematic recording with time series data for 10 years. Empirical results show that the impact of the US-GSP scheme is minimal and negative. Partially the US-GSP policy does not affect the volume and value of plywood exports in Indonesia. This is because the average NTB equivalent tariffs imposed by export destination countries are still relatively high. Therefore the Indonesian lobbying team needs to conduct a review of each of the Trump administration's protectionist policies. Keywords: Generalized System Of Preference (GSP), export, plywood.
