Abstract
ABSTRACT Garbage and water are something that cannot be separated from human life. Water is one of the natural resources that is absolutely needed by every living thing in the world, both humans, animals and plants. For this reason, it must be protected and preserved, so that it is not polluted. One type of pollutant is landfilling of waste that is too close to groundwater sources. Garbage that is disposed of at TPS in an irregular manner will produce liquid waste which can contaminate groundwater. Sidoarjo has a temporary waste storage site before it is finally disposed of in the Jabon landfill, namely Sambibulu TPS, which is a temporary waste storage site that uses open land because there is no solution for diverting it. The location is located on Jalan Sambibulu, Sambibulu Village, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java 61257. This polling station serves 8,466 people. With an average waste generation that goes to TPS 1024 kg/day consisting of 39% inorganic waste and 61% organic waste. This study aims to determine the quality of ground water taken from community wells around TPS with the parameters tested namely Ammonia (NH3), Phosphate (PO4), organic matter (KMnO4), and groundwater pH at several distances from TPS Sambibulu, as well as identify contamination of waste from TPS to ground water. Based on the research results, it was found that most of the pollutant concentrations at distances of 0 m, 10 m, 50 m and 100 m from TPS exceeded the quality standards set by PPRI No.82 of 2001 and PERMENKES RI No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010, but the concentration values of all parameters at a distance of 100 m from the TPS already meet the established quality standards. As well as the quality of groundwater at the research location with the distance of groundwater sources from TPS has a high level of relationship.
