Abstract

Quality improvement continues to be carried out in order to meet the export target of okra to several countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. The purpose of this study aims to determine the optimal dose of NPK fertilizer and proper pruning of shoot shoots against the growth and yield of green okra plants (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench). This research was conducted in a rice field in Bajulan Village, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency with an altitude of 500 meters above sea level and has an average temperature of 27-29 oC. The research was carried out from May to August 2019. This study was a factorial experiment compiled using a Randomized Group Design (RAK) and repeated three times. The first factor is the treatment of NPK fertilizer dose consists of three levels and the second factor is the treatment of pruning time of shoot shoots consisting of three levels, as follows; Factor I: Dose of NPK fertilizer (D) with 3 levels of treatment, namely D1: 750 kg / ha (13.5 g / plant); D2: 1000 kg/ha (18 g/plant); D3: 1250 kg/ha (22.5 g/plant) and Factor II : Pruning time (P) of shoot shoots with 3 levels including P0: No pruning of shoot shoots; P1: Pruning shoot shoots at the age of 15 HST; Q2: Pruning shoot shoots at the age of 30 HST. The results showed that the effect of NPK fertilizer dose on green okra plants has a noticeable difference in the number of leaves and age when okra plants appear flowers. The number of leaves shows a 5% BNJ value of 1.71 when the okra plant is 6 MST.The results showed that the effect of pruning time on green okra plants has a noticeable difference in the number of productive branches that grow and the total number of fruits per plot (fruit). In the parameter of the number of productive branches growing shows a BNJ value of 5% of 0.33 Keywords: NPK fertilizer, pruning shoot buds, green okra plants.
