Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of knowledge sharing and competency on employee performance through commitment in Dinas Pekerjaan Umum Bina Marga and Sumber Daya Air. The population in this study were employees with general/executive functional positions at the Department of Public Works and Highways of Water Resources, Sidoarjo Regency. The sampling method uses non-probability sampling, namely purposive sampling technique. The samples taken amounted to 77 respondents. The data used is primary data, namely derived from questionnaires distributed to respondents of general functional employees/executors of the Public Works and Highways Water Resources Office of Sidoarjo Regency. While the analysis used is Partial Least Square (PLS). Based on research and discussion of research results it is known that knowledge sharing has a significant positive effect on commitment, competence has a significant negative effect on commitment, knowledge sharing has a significant positive effect on employee performance, competence has no significant effect on employee performance, commitment has a significant positive effect on employee performance, commitment mediates the effect of knowledge sharing on employee performance, commitment does not mediate the effect of competence on employee performance.
