Abstract
Overall, the film “Turah” explains the facts of social conflict in remote parts of Indonesia. As a result of this social conflict resulting in injustice and position in society. The purpose of this research is to find out the representation of social conflict between the working class and the employer class in the film “Turah”. In this study, the authors used Roland Barthes Semiotic analysis using a qualitative descriptive method. Furthermore, the researcher describes the form of meaning from connotation and denotation in this study. Data collection techniques used were documentation and literature studies. In this study, the film "Turah" illustrates that social conflict is the root cause of conflict between the working class and the employer class. The film “Turah” managed to present the social conflict between the working class and the ruling class which he wanted to convey as a criticism of the government regarding the delay in the development of Tirang village. The film "Turah" explains the facts about social conflicts in remote areas of Indonesia. This is due to socio-economic disparities so that social conflict cannot be avoided. The film “Turah” depicts the resulting social conflict in the form of educational disparities, decent wages and health insurance.
