Abstract
Porang is a potential plant to be developed as an export commodity because some countries need this plant as a food ingredient and industrial ingredient. The need for porang plants always increases along with the needs of the industry. Porang tubers have enormous potential in the field of production, but this has not been managed properly and optimally. This study aims to examine the level of land suitability for porang plants in Wonosalam District, Jombang Regency. This research is a type of evaluative research. The method used in this study is a survey method carried out with sampling techniques and analysis of selected soil samples. Sampling was carried out based on overlays or overlapping maps of land use, geology, topography, relief, and slope slopes in Wonosalam District. Overlay results obtained 11 SPL (Land Plot Units) that meet the characteristics of each map. The results showed that the land in the study area had a varied slope of at least 11.3% and the highest at 35%. The soil texture is dominated by a fine texture with the highest value of 62.13% clay in LD3. Sour pH value (4.71 – 5.56). C-organics vary by 0.17 – 3.63 %. The KTK value in the study area was 17.99-33.15 Cmol/kg. LD1, LD3, KB1, KB2, KB3, KB4, HT1 are quite in line with the limiting factors of precipitation and slope slope (S2 wa, e). LD2 is quite in line with the rainfall limiting factor (S2 wa). HT2, HT3, HT4 do not correspond to the slope limiting factor (S3 e). The limiting factor is dominated by Rainfall and slope slopes on each SPL. Keywords: Land suitability, Wonosalam jombang, Porang Plant
