Abstract
Kailan plant cultivation with a hydroponic system needs to pay attention to the use of AB Mix nutrients and the right type of planting media in order to get maximum plant production. The purpose of this study was to obtain the interaction between the type of AB Mix nutrition and the type of planting media on the yield and growth of Kailan plants using hydroponic substrates. The study was arranged using a factorial randomized block design. The first factor was the type of AB Mix nutrition (Growrich, Infarm, and Purie Garden), and the second factor was the type of planting medium, which consisted of Cocopeat, Husk Charcoal, and Cocopeat: Husk Charcoal (1:1), with three replications. The results showed that the interaction of AB Mix nutrients and the type of planting media was significantly different with respect to leaf area per plant. Rice husk charcoal + Infarm (M2A2) media treatment showed the best results. The type of AB Mix nutrition had a very significant effect on the parameters of plant height, root dry weight per plant and leaf area per plant. The type of planting medium did not have a significant effect on all observed parameters. The nutritional quality of Growrich's AB mix is no different from Infarm and Purie Garden's nutrition, so it is suitable for use in cayenne cultivation and is able to compete with Infarm and Purie Garden's nutritional products.
