Abstract
Culinary entrepreneurs at the Urip Sumoharjo Surabaya Culinary Tourism Center (SWK) have continued to maintain their businesses despite the Covid-19 Pandemic which has caused their income to decline. This study aims to analyze the reasons that cause entrepreneurs to choose to open a culinary business, analyze the factors that motivate entrepreneurs to do business in the culinary field, analyze the expectations or expectations of entrepreneurs in opening a culinary business. The data collection method was carried out by means of interviews assisted by using a questionnaire. Respondents in this study were all culinary entrepreneurs at SWK Urip Sumoharjo Surabaya, namely 19 respondents. The results of the study show that 1) The reasons for entrepreneurs in SWK Urip Sumoharjo to become entrepreneurs are to make ends meet, get used to it since childhood, try new opportunities, want to be independent, provide a place to gather, invite relatives, continue your business, and because of hobbies. 2) Factors that motivate entrepreneurs to try culinary at SWK Urip Sumoharjo are internal factors and external factors. 3) Entrepreneurs' expectations or expectations consist of short-term, medium-term, and long-term expectations. The short-term hope of entrepreneurs is that turnover will increase again to how it was before the pandemic. The mid-term hope of entrepreneurs at SWK Urip Sumoharjo is to add more employees and kiosks but this is still constrained by funds, while in the long term they do not dare to hope because it is not certain that things will go well so they choose to adapt to future conditions.
