Abstract

ABSTRACT Mango is a potential plant to be developed because it was liked by almost all levels of society and has a wide market. The main problem in mango development is the presence of pest and diseus. The concept of pest control by planting refugia around the plant area is able to attract many natural enemies because it functions as a source of food and a place of rest. This study aims to determine the interest of arthropods in the refugia block in the avocado mango field. The planting pattern of refugia (C. caudatus, H. annuus L., Z. acceraso) is a combination of hedgerows and insectary bank. The research method used is direct observation using sweep net, yellow sticky traps, and pitfall traps. Identification of insects using insect recognition books and naturalist applications. The data were analyzed quantitatively by calculating the relative frequency, diversity index (H') and relative abundance index (IKR%). The study found 16963 individuals, consisting of 104 species, 56 families, and 12 insect orders. The results of the calculation of the frequency of visits (FR) of the highest insect with a value of 5.72% and the lowest with a value of 0.01%, the diversity index (H') obtained sunflower refugia of 0.126, kenikir plant refugia of 0.116, paper flower refugia of 0.112, on T. procumbens plant of 0.097, and mango avocado plant of 0.118 is low. The relative abundance index values obtained were 20.43% sunflower refugia, 20.95% kenikir plant refugia, 16.49% paper flower refugia, 20.51% for T. procumbens, and 21 ,46% mango avocado plants included in the high category.
