Abstract
Hospitals as service facilities in the health sector are obliged to implement OHS guidance, this effort is carried out to avoid the risk of accidents and occupational diseases. Work accidents are often related to negligence or disobedience to work safety rules by workers which are generally caused by a minimal level of worker knowledge. The purpose of this study was to assess the potential risk and provide control over the risk of work accidents as well as to determine the level of correlation and influence between the knowledge, manner, and behavior of medical waste management workers in the medical waste management process at the Sidoarjo District Hospital. This study uses observational analysis with an inductive analysis approach and the data is processed using the HIRARC method and using observational analysis with a cross-sectional approach whose samples are janitors who manage medical waste. The results show that there are 5 potential risks with a low risk value. As well as 12 potential risks with a moderate risk value. For risk control efforts, there are 3 risk control suggestions based on the risk control hierarchy, namely Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Administrative Control, and Technical Control. Meanwhile, the correlation level of Knowledge, Attitude, and Behavior towards Work Accidents is -0.698, -0.699, and -0.692, respectively. Based on multiple linear regression test, the level of influence of the three X variables including Knowledge, Attitude, and Behavior simultaneously on the Y variable, namely Work Accidents has an R-Square value of 60.9%.
