Abstract
South Korea's success in introducing its cultural products can be seen from the enormous interest of the world community towards Korean entertainment production, especially music, films, and dramas. This phenomenon is known as the Korean Wave. The swift current of the Korean Wave also formed fans which later developed into fandom. This article is a descriptive qualitative research with the object of study is the fandom of the idol group BTS known as A.R.M.Y and the fandom of the idol group EXO known as EXO-L. This study shows that fans & fandom is a subculture that is other than modern society. There are indeed negative impacts from fans & fandoms but don't forget that fans & fandoms also have a positive impact. Keywords: fandom, K-pop, Army, Exo
