Abstract

Katemas Village has the largest land area and production in Kudu District, but the average productivity is not greater than other villages. The purpose of this research is to describe the level of technical and economic efficiency, and to analyze the factors that influence the level of technical and economic efficiency achieved in tobacco farming and to determine the income of tobacco farmers in Katemas Village, Kudu District, Jombang Regency. The research location was determined by purposive method. The sample farmers were 85 by the Slovin method. The data analysis uses the Cobb-Douglas Production Function with the SPSS application and income analysis. The results showed that the production factors of land area, labor, seeds, urea, ZA, NPK, and organic fertilizer together had a significant effect on tobacco production. Partially, the use of labor production factors, seeds and NPK fertilizers significantly affects tobacco production. Meanwhile, land area production factors, urea, ZA fertilizers and organic fertilizers had no significant effect on tobacco production. The value of technical efficiency is 0.892, which means that the use of production factors is quite efficient. The value of the economic efficiency of land area, labor, seeds, urea fertilizer, ZA fertilizer, and organic fertilizer is not yet economically efficient because it has a value > 1. While the production factor of NPK fertilizer is not economically efficient because it has a value < 1.
