Abstract
Problems of transportation often arise due to rapid population growth which is directly proportional to the increased number of vehicles and limited transportation facilities available. These problems need transportation planning. The problem of population growth rates also affects the growth of the education system which is also increasing. Based on preposition of movement that move towards to the center of activity, which in this case is the college, it will also affect the performance of the transportation system around the college. National Development University “Veteran” of East Java has opened a new study program supported by several new buildings. This has the potential to cause traffic problems on the roads around the campus because of student capacity. So, this research was conducted to determine the amount of student trip generation calculated by the origin destination matrix using the furness method which is influenced by trip generation factors. The generation model was obtained with SPSS. From the multiple linear regression analysis, this study obtained the results of trip generation model equation Y = 280.429 - 11.355 X1 - 1.873 X3, where X1 is age and X3 is distance, estimated number of students in the next 5 years is 30.098 students.
