Abstract
Poverty is a common problem in developing countries. Poverty arises due to the inability of some people to organize their lives to a level that is considered humane. This study aims to determine the indirect effect of HDI components, namely Average Length of Schooling, Life Expectancy and Per Capita GRDP on poverty through the Open Unemployment Rate in Yogyakarta Province. This study uses secondary data with quantitative methods. Data analysis used path analysis with the Sobel test as the test. Time series data uses the period 2002-2021. The results of the study show that the Open Unemployment Rate can be an intervening variable which explains the indirect effect of Life Expectancy on poverty levels. In addition, this influence has a positive relationship, which means that when people's life expectancy increases, it will increase the level of poverty.
