Abstract
Temperature control is a critical aspect in various industrial applications, including laboratory settings. In the context of ITCLab, efficient temperature control is imperative to ensure the consistency and stability of experiments. Model Predictive Control (MPC) has proven effective in optimizing temperature control systems, but its application in laboratory environments is often limited. This research employs an experimental approach by implementing MPC in the temperature control system of ITCLab. The experimental design involves the installation of temperature sensors connected to IoT devices for real-time monitoring. Additionally, the mathematical model of the ITCLab temperature system is identified and utilized in the development of MPC control. Testing is conducted by comparing the temperature control results between MPC and conventional control methods. Monitoring data obtained from IoT devices is used to evaluate the performance of MPC. Preliminary results indicate that the implementation of MPC enhances the response of the ITCLab temperature control system, resulting in a significant improvement in precision and stabilization time. However, the full impact of IoT integration on temperature monitoring is not yet fully evident. The collected data will be further analyzed to assess the reliability and real-time information availability. Furthermore, the potential for improving energy efficiency and the adaptability of the temperature control system to experimental variations will be elaborated upon in the comprehensive presentation of the research findings.
