Abstract
Cayenne pepper is a commodity with very fluctuating prices. In Sumenep Regency, cayenne pepper is often one of the biggest contributors to inflation. This study aims to analyze fluctuations and price forecasting of cayenne pepper in Sumenep Regency and the factors that influence it. The data used is secondary time series data in the form of cayenne pepper prices, rainfall, large red chili prices, and the occurrence of holidays. The first objective was analyzed using the coefficient of variation and the ARIMA method, and the second objective was analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that 1) The price fluctuations of cayenne pepper in Sumenep Regency from 2017-2022 fluctuated highly and were unstable and the results of forecasting the price of cayenne pepper in 2023 ranged from Rp. 18703 - Rp. 37531 and will experience a decrease, and 2) Simultaneously rainfall, prices of substitutes, and The existence of a big day affects the price of cayenne pepper. Partially, rainfall and the price of substitute goods affect the price of cayenne pepper, while the presence of holidays does not affect the price of cayenne pepper.
