Abstract
Pabrik Ammonium Klorida dari Ammonia dan Asam Klorida Kapasitas 200.000 ton/tahun sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang ada di Badan Pusat Statistik. Secara singkat uraian prosesnya adalah : Dalam proses pembuatan pentaeritritol digunakan bahan baku Ammonia 99,5% dan Asam Klorida 34%. Kondisi operasi didalam reaktor yaitu pada suhu 130°C dan tekanan 1 atm reaksi kedua gas ini disebut dengan reaksi netralisasi.. Kemudian padatan ini dialirkan menuju siklon untuk memisahkan padatan amonium klorida dari sisa gas. Sisa gas tersebut akan di kembalikan ke dalam reaktor sedangkan padatan akan dialirkan menuju disolving tank. Didalam disolving tank ini terjadi pencampuran antara Amonium Klorida dari reaktor dan mother liquor dari centrifuge. Larutan jenuh yang keluar dari disolving tank dipompa menuju crytalizer yang beroperasi pada suhu 40℃. Produk kristal yang bercampur denga mother liquor selanjutnya dipompa menuju centrifuge untuk memisahkan antara kristal dengan mother liquor-nya. Mother liquor di recycle menuju disolving tank sebagai pelarut untuk mempercepat proses penjenuhan larutan. Kristal basah dari centrifuge dialirkan menuju rotary dryer untuk dikeringkan hingga kadar air kristal mencapai 0,05%. Setelah kering kristal dilakukan penyaringan produk dengan screen ballmill agar diperoleh ukuaran yang seragam yaitu antara 100 mesh. Ukuran yang tidak sesuai dimasukkan kembali ke ball mill. Selanjutnya produk kristal kering amonium klorida yang sudah sesuai disimpan didalam silo. Produk mengandung kemurnian yang cukup tinggi yaitu 99,98%.
